The canine and feline nutrition program offers the following services for pet owners:
Evaluation of feeding plans and commercial diets for healthy pets
Nutritional recommendations for growth, maintenance, reproduction, working, and special needs of young, adult, and senior pets
Customized plans for weight loss
Evaluation and formulation of home recipes for owners who wish to prepare their own pet diets
Information and education on the pet food industry and current issues including:
Commercial diets
Supplements
Nutraceuticals
Alternative diets such as raw feeding, organic, grain-free, etc.
Consultations are available by phone, fax, e-mail, mail, or by appointment at the VMTH. There is no charge for general questions or brief consults. Fees are assessed for written consult requests.
