Specialty Services - Clinical Nutrition
The canine and feline nutrition program offers the following services for pet owners:
- Evaluation of feeding plans and commercial diets for healthy pets
- Nutritional recommendations for growth, maintenance, reproduction, working, and special needs of young, adult, and senior pets
- Customized plans for weight loss
- Evaluation and formulation of home recipes for owners who wish to prepare their own pet diets
- Information and education on the pet food industry and current issues including:
- Commercial diets
- Supplements
- Nutraceuticals
- Alternative diets such as raw feeding, organic, grain-free, etc.
Consultations are available by phone, fax (573)884-7563, e-mail, mail, or by appointment at the VMTH. There is no charge for general questions or brief consults. Fees are assessed for written consult requests.
